Director Ira-Sharay Kip
Ira-Sharay Kip is a young director born and raised in Amsterdam the Netherlands.
In 2005 she decided to move to New York where she since has received an MFA in Directing from the New School for Drama.
She has enhanced her talents on plays like, Top Dog Under Dog, Richard III, Jesus Hopped The A Train, La Casa De Benarda Alba, Agamemnon and recently directed Den Of Thieves by Steven Adly Guirgis.
She is a proud member of the Hip Hop Theater Festival where she directed the 365 days/365 plays by Suzan-Lori Parks, produced by HHTF. Her love for teaching has taken her to different schools and youth organizations both in the US and abroad teaching a curriculum that explores theater history and performance.
In 2007 she founded her production company “The Pancake Gallery” with her twin Ayra Kip. Together they host a series of Arts events connecting the Arts communities of Amsterdam, London and New York.
In the fall of 09’ she will be going back to her native country to direct her 1st play since her departure titled “She’s Baltimore”.
She is looking forward to a career both in the US and Europe.
